Tamarac Wins Wild One At The Buzzer Rick Lyons-Staff Writer
The girl's from Tamarac lived by the 3 ball all night but in the end it was a long two pointer finding every piece of the rim before finding net, that gave the Bengals a 50-48 decision over Granville in an exciting Friday night contest at Clums Corners. This game had a little bit of everything from Tamarac opening in a triangle and 2 defensively and relying on the long ball, 5 three's on the night, offensively. While Granville refused to go away scoring with slashing drives to the rim and pounding the offensive glass. With under a minute left to play and Tamarac clinging to a 48-46 lead, Granville, while trying to foul came up with a steal and lay-in by Emily Fuller to tie it at 48. The Bengals brought the ball through Granville pressure and took a timeout with 11 seconds to play. Tamarac had drawn up a ball screen on the right wing hoping to free a shooter for an open look. Granville stuffed the play and Zysnia Osepa found the ball in her hands with two ticks left on the clock. Under heavy pressure she let it go from just inside the three point line, and as the buzzer sounded the basketball took an extended tour of the rim before settling into the net giving Tamarac the victory. Emily Fuller led Granville with a game high 21 points, and Chelsea Lyons added 10 point and 10 rebounds for the 3-7, 4-9 Golden Horde. Zysnia Osepa with 14 and Brandi Warner 10 paced Tamarac 2-8, 4-10 on the season.
